Striking gold again!

When I said at the end of my last post “I wonder what next week will bring?!”, I didn’t expect another rarity to turn up! But one did, in the form of a lovely Lesser Yellowlegs.

It was found and reported yesterday while I was out with Mum, but thankfully stayed another day. Who knows, maybe it’ll make Titchfield Haven it’s home for the winter?

Remembering to take my scope this time meant that I had much better views of the wader than I did when I went to see the long staying one at Lepe Country Park in January, and some much better photos too! I could barely make it out with just binoculars at Lepe, but at times today the Yellowlegs kindly moved closer to the hide. Great views; great bird and takes my patch list to 115 for the year.

So, the question once again is what next?
